MI’s Hardik Pandya, back from injury, made a crucial decision by winning the toss on a new black-soil pitch in Ahmedabad. He chose to bowl first against GT.
As reported by Michael Clarke, the pitch seems to have two different speeds and a score of 180 could be considered average.
In addition, Hardik will take the place of Will Jacks while Mujeeb Ur Rahman steps in for left-arm wristspinner Vignesh Puthur, who had a remarkable three-wicket haul in the last match. It is expected that Robin Minz will serve as their Impact Player.
GT captain Shubman Gill expressed that they were hoping to bowl first. However, as per the rules, one team must bat first.
While GT decided not to include Arshad Khan, who conceded 21 runs in his only over against Punjab Kings (PBKS), they also did not select Washington Sundar, at least for the time being. Even though Sundar is listed as a potential Impact Player, GT may opt for Ishant Sharma instead.
Both teams are coming off a loss. GT dropped their first match to PBKS, while MI faced defeat against Chennai Super Kings.
The Gujarat Titans lineup consists of 1 Shubman Gill as the captain, along with 2 Sai Sudharsan, 3 Jos Buttler as the wicketkeeper, and 4 Sherfane Rutherford. Also included are 5 Shahrukh Khan, 6 Rahul Tewatia, and 7 Rashid Khan. Completing the team are 8 R Sai Kishore, 9 Kagiso Rabada, 10 Mohammed Siraj, and 11 Prasidh Krishna.
The top choices for Impact Player are Ishant Sharma, Washington Sundar, Glenn Phillips, Anuj Rawat, and Mahipal Lomror.
