On Thursday night in Ahmedabad, a total of 400 runs were scored during the match between Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans. This has resulted in changes on the Orange Cap list. Let’s take a look at the current rankings for both top run-scorers and top wicket-takers in IPL 2025.
The table with the Orange Cap
GT’s dynamic duo, B Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill, maintain their stronghold of the top two positions despite their recent match against LSG. Sudharsan currently boasts 638 runs from 13 innings while Gill sits just two runs behind the leader.
Thursday’s standout performance belonged to Mitchell Marsh, whose maiden IPL hundred propelled him greatly. With his stellar consistency this season, Marsh’s impressive knock of 117 off 64 deliveries boosted LSG to a massive score of 235 for 2 and ultimately secured them a 33-run victory. Marsh now sits in fourth place with a total of 560 runs from 12 games, with Suryakumar Yadav of Mumbai Indians (MI) and the GT openers positioned ahead of him.
In addition, Nicholas Pooran – one of LSG’s primary batters for the evening – climbed to seventh place on the Orange Cap table with his unbeaten knock of 56 off 27 balls. Despite previously occupying a prominent spot at the top during the initial matches of the tournament, Pooran had dropped down in rankings before reaching a total of 511 runs.
