Lucknow Super Giants have chosen to bowl first against Punjab Kings.
LSG won the toss and elected to bowl against PBKS in order to gain an advantage by observing the flow of the game.
There may be some hesitation due to the situation in Dharamsala, as this marks the beginning of PBKS’ participation in IPL 2025 and there has been rainfall in the two days leading up to this match. According to Sheryas Iyer, captain of PBKS, there is some dampness on the pitch at the start and he would have also chosen to bowl.
PBKS are in a position to move up to second place if they secure a victory on Sunday night. To increase their chances, Marcus Stoinis has been added to the team. LSG entered the game outside of the top four and could potentially rise to fifth place with a win. For this match, they have included Akash Singh from Rajasthan, a left-arm seam bowler who has taken 16 wickets in 20 matches. Noticeably absent is Ravi Bishnoi, indicating that they believe the pitch will not favor spinners.
