Following the double-header on Sunday, the Purple Cap table saw a change in its rankings for No. 2 and No. 3. This was due to Delhi Capitals (DC) defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) emerging victorious against Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Noor Ahmad continues to hold the top spot on this list in the IPL 2025, having taken nine wickets in 11 games. Despite CSK’s defeat against RR, Noor once again shone for the team, recording figures of 2 for 28. His victims included Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel. In their match against RCB, Noor proved his worth by dismissing in-form opener Phil Salt for 32 with some help from MS Dhoni’s quick stumping. He then went on to claim the wickets of Virat Kohli (31) and Liam Livingstone. In Chennai’s opening match against MI, Noor was named Player-of-the-Match for his impressive performance of 4 for 18.
Following his impressive performance in DC’s match against SRH, Mitchell Starc has ascended to the top three. His career-best T20 figures were achieved through a formidable first spell where he successfully dismissed Travis Head, Ishan Kishan, and Nitish Kumar Reddy during the powerplay. In the 18th over, Starc returned to take down Harshal Patel and Wiaan Mulder, ultimately ending with a record of 5 for 35. Notably, in DC’s previous match against LSG, he had also secured admirable figures of 3 for 42. With this achievement, Starc’s total wickets for the season now stand at eight.
CSK’s Khaleel Ahmed has continued his impressive form as he climbed up to the top three in the bowling charts on Friday. His recent performance against RR, where he took 2 wickets for 38 runs, has played a significant role in his rise. Khaleel began the match by dismissing Yashasvi Jaiswal for just 4 runs in the very first over. Later, he struck again and got rid of Jofra Archer for a duck. This is not the first time we have seen Khaleel dominate on the field. In fact, in the previous match against MI, he managed to take 3 wickets for 29 runs and followed it up with another commendable performance of 1 wicket for 28 runs against RCB.
The table for the Orange Cap
Nicholas Pooran has maintained his position as the leading scorer with impressive performances in recent matches. In his first appearance, he scored 75 runs in just 30 balls against DC while batting second. He followed this up with another strong display of 70 runs from 26 balls against SRH when batting first. Additionally, he currently holds the top spot on the list of most sixes hit with a total of 13 in two innings. Notably, Pooran boasts an outstanding strike rate of 258.92, making him the current leader in this category as well.
Despite his seemingly slow scoring in the IPL 2025 with only eight sixes and a strike rate of 167.07, B Sai Sudharsan has proven to be a valuable player for the Gujarat Titans. In his two innings, he has accumulated a total of 137 runs, placing him at No. 2 on the Orange Cap table. His performances against Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Mumbai Indians (MI), where he scored 74 and 63 respectively, have shown promise as he faced exactly 41 balls each time. This bodes well for GT in their opening matches with Sudharsan leading their batting line-up.
Following his impressive 22 off 12 against DC, Travis Head has now secured a spot in the top three of the run-getters list with a total of 136 runs in three games. He continued to showcase his batting prowess with a solid score of 67 against RR and followed it up with another decent performance of 47 runs against LSG. However, he faced some difficulty scoring against Starc during the match against DC.
