The Rajasthan Royals have chosen to bat after winning the toss against the Chennai Super Kings.
Despite losing eight out of nine games while chasing, Rajasthan Royals (RR) remained committed to their strategy of chasing, reflecting their belief that batting is not a weakness. In fact, they are determined to limit the target and made one alteration to the team by replacing Fazalhaq Farooqi with Yudhvir Singh. This decision also means that there are only three overseas players in their bowling-dominated playing eleven, offering a potential IPL debut for Lhuan-dre Pretorius when it’s time to chase.
CSK opted for an unchanged lineup from their last game, with captain MS Dhoni expressing satisfaction with the progress of their batting for the upcoming season.
Both teams had accumulated six points each, with CSK having an extra match to play. If they secure a victory on Tuesday, it will prevent them from experiencing their first-ever last-place finish in the IPL. On the other hand, even if RR triumphs in their final game, it won’t necessarily protect them from earning the unwanted title.
According to RR’s coach Rahul Dravid, their season would have been altered had they not suffered defeat in all of their tense matches. The team has unfortunately found themselves on the losing end in five narrow contests, one of which ended in a tie at the same location where victory seemed within reach.
The Chennai Super Kings lineup features Ayush Mhatre, Devon Conway, Urvil Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, Dewald Brevis, Shivam Dube, MS Dhoni as captain and wicket-keeper, R Ashwin, Noor Ahmad, Anshul Kamboj, and Khaleel Ahmed.
The available Impact Players are Matheesha Pathirana, Deepak Hooda, Vijay Shankar, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, and Ramakrishna Ghosh.
