RCB received notice of this update on late Tuesday afternoon, shortly before their optional training session. This was their first one since the pre-match session for the KKR match on Friday, as the rain had briefly stopped. Unfortunately, the forecast predicts continued showers for Tuesday night.
RCB’s recent change in schedule has improved their chances of securing a top two spot. If their upcoming home game had also been affected by rain, it could have jeopardized their position. As of now, RCB holds the second spot on the points table, only one point behind GT’s total of 18.
The upcoming 2025 IPL playoffs will be held in New Chandigarh and Ahmedabad.
The BCCI has announced New Chandigarh and Ahmedabad as the two venues for the four IPL 2025 playoff games. This decision comes after a schedule revision following a temporary suspension earlier this month.
According to sources, Mullanpur has been selected to host qualifier 1 on May 29 and the eliminator on the following day. Meanwhile, Ahmedabad will be the venue for qualifier 2 and the final on June 1 and June 3, respectively. Initially, Hyderabad and Kolkata were set to host these four matches at the end of this month. However, the IPL Governing Council has made a change in venues due to “various factors, including weather conditions.”
PBKS, RCB, and GT have solidified their position in the playoffs, leaving DC and MI to compete for the fourth spot.
